Bonne Terre, MO – June 3, 2025 – The Space Museum and Grissom Center is thrilled to announce "Show Me Space 2025," an immersive event celebrating the wonders of science fiction and space exploration. Scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the event will be held at the museum's location in Bonne Terre, Missouri.
This year's theme, "Show Me Sci-Fi Space," invites attendees to explore the iconic sci-fi universes that have ignited imaginations for generations. The event promises a day filled with engaging presentations, interactive exhibits, and unique opportunities to connect with experts and enthusiasts in the field.
Featured Presenters:
Dan Monroe: Host of "Movies, Music, & Monsters," Monroe will delve into sci-fi cinema, music, and behind-the-scenes Hollywood secrets.
Dr. Tom Jones: Veteran NASA astronaut with four Space Shuttle missions, Dr. Jones will share his experiences and sign copies of his books.
Lou Dalmaso: Renowned model builder from "Aztek Dummy Productions," presenting his studio-scale model of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D.
Lance S. Winkel: Assistant Professor of Digital Animation, offering demonstrations and discussions on animation in sci-fi media.
70th Explorers Garrison: A Star Wars Imperial costuming group bringing the galaxy far, far away to life.
Event Highlights:
Exhibits: Tour the museum's extensive collection of 1940s-60s sci-fi toys and view full-scale replicas of iconic robots like B-9 from Lost in Space and R2-D2 from Star Wars.
Contests: Participate in a cosplay contest and a sci-fi model contest hosted by the Gateway Chapter of the International Plastic Modelers Society.
Door Prizes: Attendees have a chance to win various prizes, including an appearance on a segment of "Movies, Music, & Monsters."
