Celebrating East Missouri Action Agency — 60 Years of Service
Today, we were honored to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of East Missouri Action Agency with a ribbon cutting at their Park Hills campus! Thank you to EMAA for inviting the Park Hills–Leadington Chamber of Commerce to join the festivities and for the warm tour of your incredible facility. We spent our afternoon meeting the team and learning all about the many programs currently in action. From the greenhouse and Head Start offices to the Women’s Wellness Clinic, Housing Assistance, and the Ground Up food truck, we were blown away by the level of commitment EMAA shows to our community and the surrounding areas.
For six decades, EMAA has been a cornerstone of support for families across our region, offering a wide range of services that promote stability, health, and opportunity, including:
Head Start & Early Childhood Services – Comprehensive early learning for children ages 3–5, with strong family engagement and wraparound supports.
Women’s Wellness – Low or no‑cost reproductive and preventive health services (birth control options, Pap smears, breast exams, HIV/STI testing, and more) through the Women’s Wellness Center.
Housing Assistance (Public Housing Authority) – Local support for safe, affordable housing and related resident services.
Community Services & Energy Support – Help with essential needs and connections to resources, including health insurance enrollment guidance and energy assistance information.
Nutrition & Family Supports – EMAA connects families with nutrition education and complementary programs (often alongside partners such as WIC and Head Start).
These programs, and the caring professionals behind them, reflect EMAA’s mission to strengthen families and reduce poverty across East Missouri.
