Ribbon Cutting for the New Handicapped Swing Set

Ribbon Cutting for the New Handicapped Swing Set

After more than a year of planning, the St. Francois County Rotary Club is excited to announce the completion of the county's first swing set in Columbia Park, Park Hills that is designed for disabled children.

The Rotary Club, along with the Park Hills - Leadington Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the completion of the project with a ribbon cutting on September 19, 2013.  The event will include free hot dogs, chips, balloon animals for the kids and a special performance by Magician D.J. Edwards!

Curtis Turner, immediate past president of the local rotary, said the steel structure, made by Little Tykes, includes two handicapped-accessible swings. A wheelchair-accessible sidewalk leads to the swing set, which is surrounded by an ADA approved space of 32 feet by 32 feet and that is located near the existing playgrounds, Turner said.

St. Francois County Rotarians, City Officials, Chamber Officials, Chamber Investors and area residents are invited to help celebrate the project completion by attending the ribbon cutting at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, September 19th a the swing set site in Columbia Park.
